All of my works, whether purely sculptural or utilitarian, are contemplations on nature as well as representations of it. Living on a relatively small island where the coastline is the only habitable place forges a special relationship with the ocean; it is a constant force, surrounding you at all times. Even if it's not right there in front of you, the smell, the sound and the feel of it is always within reach.
The shore is a particularly magical place for me, the natural and creative forces where the ocean meets land can be seen in all kinds of shapes, colours and sizes of pebbles, rocks, stones, shells, concretions and cliffs. All of these figures interspersed with holes from erosion by water and earth. This meeting of the opposites and how these two elements interact is constant source of inspiration in my art.
